MIKE COLLINS WINS U.S. SENATE PRIMARY, ADVANCES TO GENERAL ELECTION AGAINST JON OSSOFF

JACKSON, GA — Mike Collins claimed victory in the Republican primary runoff, securing the GOP nomination for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Democrat Jon Ossoff.

Collins, a Jackson native,  has spent his career building a small trucking business, not a political career. He knows what it means to sign the front and back of a paycheck, to have employees and their families counting on him to make the right decisions, and to deliver results when it matters most. That is the experience he has brought to the House, and it is exactly what Georgia needs in the U.S. Senate.

In just two years in the House, Collins   passed two pieces of legislation signed into law by two  presidents from two different parties. Now, Collins is taking his record of results into the general election with a clear mission: make life more affordable, more safe, and more prosperous for  Georgia families.

With the primary behind him, Collins called on Republicans across Georgia to unite. The party had a spirited primary, but the mission ahead is clear. Defeat Jon Ossoff in November and return Georgia’s U.S. Senate seat to the people of this state.

COLLINS FULL ELECTION NIGHT SPEECH:

“Thank you, Georgia!

Wow, what an incredible night.

I am so proud to be standing here as your Republican nominee for the United States Senate!

I’ve got a few special people who made this happen that I need to thank.

First and foremost, I want to thank my wife Leigh Ann. She is my best friend, the rock of our family who had my back this entire race—through the thick and thin—and none of this would have been possible without her.

I want to thank my mom; my children, Dylan, Dakota, and Summer; and my entire family for being such a great support system throughout this race.

I want to also thank my staff, our Convoy Captains–let’s make some noise for our Convoy Captains?

I want to thank Derek Dooley for running a spirited campaign, and Governor Kemp for his leadership and friendship over the years.

Republicans have robust primaries — sometimes with strong disagreements — but now we stand united around one mission: defeating Jon Ossoff in November and returning this Senate seat to the people of Georgia.

And I look forward to working with them to do just that.

Most importantly, I want to thank the people of Georgia for putting their trust in me.

To those who voted for me, those who didn’t, and those who don’t quite know me yet, I am going to work every single day to earn your trust, your support, and your vote.

For those who don’t know me: I’m Mike Collins.

I grew up on this red clay right here in Jackson, Georgia. This state is the only place I’ve ever known as home. It’s where I built my business, raised my family, and learned the hard lessons that shape how I have delivered results every day in Washington.

My wife, Leigh Ann, and I started our trucking company over thirty years ago–hiring and making payroll, with the help of a great team and family, and growing the business into what it is today, with nearly 100 employees delivering goods and services across the state and across the country that fuel our economy.

I know what it’s like to have employees and their families count on you to make the right decisions every day. Jon Ossoff doesn’t.

I know what it’s like to sign the front and back of a paycheck so that Georgians can put food on the table and provide for their families. Jon Ossoff doesn’t.

And I know what it’s like to take Georgia values of hard work, honesty, integrity, and a solutions-based approach to Washington, D.C to get things done. Jon Ossoff doesn’t.

The truth is, we need more businesspeople in Washington who know how to get things done—and that’s exactly what I’ve done in two short years: getting two pieces of legislation signed into law by two different presidents from two different parties in a bipartisan fashion.

The first was the TRANQ Act which is helping to combat and prevent the spread of dangerous synthetic opioids—keeping them off our streets and out of our communities.

The second was the Laken Riley Act to prevent dangerous criminal illegals like Jose Ibarra taking another innocent life. To this day, that bill has led to the deportation of over 20,000 illegal criminals in this country.

I got those things and more done by doing the same thing I’ve been doing in the private sector for 30 years–doing the right thing, bringing people together, building coalitions, and finding common ground to get some uncommon things done. That’s what it’s about.

If I’m given the honor to serve Georgia in the Senate I will work hard, get the job done, and come home. We don’t need more career politicians.

And my plan as your next U.S. Senator is simple: use my business experience to build on the record of results I’ve delivered in Washington and make life more affordable, more safe, and prosperous for every Georgia family.

First, get rid of the policies that have fueled high prices. Ossoff and politicians in Washington want to pile high taxes on top of high prices. It doesn’t work for working families, it doesn’t work for me.

That’s one of the reasons I’ve got legislation called the PERMIT Act that will cut red tape for infrastructure, housing, and smart development to lower costs, spur growth, and create more opportunities for families and communities to grow.

Second, expand President Trump’s energy policies to continue to unleash American energy dominance. We need an all the above approach to energy which will lower costs for every Georgian, boost our supply, and unleash economic activity.

Third, lower childcare and healthcare costs by creating more price transparency, lowering prescription drug prices, expanding health savings accounts, and rooting out the waste, fraud, and abuse that is raising the costs on every American.

We can move forward with an agenda that puts Georgians First. That builds on a vision where the working man is forgotten no more, where we protect our borders and fight crime; where we make life safer, more affordable, and more prosperous.

But it stands in stark contrast to what Jon Ossoff has done in Washington and what he will do if given another six years.

While I was in the private sector in 2021 creating jobs and opportunities for hardworking Georgians, Jon Ossoff was the deciding vote for Joe Biden’s massive spending bills that sent inflation skyrocketing, raised prices on gas and groceries, and made life more expensive for you and your family.

I voted to deliver historic tax relief to working- and middle-class Americans, eliminate tax on tips and overtime, and put more money back into your pocket. Jon Ossoff voted against that bill—while at the same time voting to send stimulus checks to prisoners and illegal immigrants.

As a father and grandfather, I’ve fought to protect our women, girls, and the most vulnerable in our society. Jon Ossoff voted not once, not twice, but three times to let men compete against girls in sports, co-sponsored legislation to allow men to use women’s restrooms, and pushed to allow men to be admitted in women’s domestic violence centers.

I sponsored, passed, and the President signed into law the Laken Riley Act to protect our families and communities from violent criminals who are here illegally.

Jon Ossoff initially voted against that bill, voted to give amnesty to illegal immigrants convicted of a crime, and voted to fund the exact type of sanctuary cities that got Laken murdered.

The choice in this race is crystal clear: a businessman who has delivered results in both the private sector and in Washington — making your life more affordable, more safe, and more prosperous — or an out-of-touch, far-left liberal who has raised your taxes, made your life more expensive, less safe, and left Georgia worse off.

But let me be clear: this race will be challenging.

Jon Ossoff will have millions and millions of dollars pouring in from his New York and California donors, the political establishment, mainstream media, and global elites they’ll be working overtime to get him re-elected.

But let me also be clear: we are going to win this race because we have the hardworking people of Georgia on our side.

We wont be outworked.

We won’t be outrun.

We are going to travel every corner of this state — meeting with Georgians from Bainbridge to Blue Ridge, from Buckhead to Bankhead, in every zip code and every community — to share our plan to make their lives better. And that is exactly what I will do every single day as your next United States Senator.

So hop in, buckle up, and get ready.

This truck is fired up and we are gonna keep the hammer down all the way until November.

Thank you, God Bless, and God Bless the Great State of Georgia!”
